BIENVENUE AU GSAFO
Le Groupe de sensibilisation à l’anémie falciforme de l’Ontario (GSAFO) a été créé sous le nom de Seed of Life Philanthropic Organization (SOLPO) en mémoire d’un jeune homme courageux — Sunday Afolabi — le 14 juin 2005. Le GSAFO est un organisme caritatif de patients de premier plan qui offre un soutien fondé sur des données probantes aux familles d’enfants, d’adolescents et d’adultes atteints d’anémie falciforme dans les quatre régions de la province. Il soutient la recherche clinique et se consacre à la recherche psychosociale, la promotion de la santé, l’éducation des patients et des fournisseurs de soins, la sensibilisation de la communauté et l’élaboration de lignes directrices et de pratiques exemplaires.
Depuis sa création, le GSAFO investit 100 % de ses ressources dans l’amélioration de la qualité de vie des personnes et des familles touchées par l’anémie falciforme. Il se consacre à la sensibilisation et à la présentation de données probantes en leur nom auprès du gouvernement, des écoles et du système de santé. Nous comptons sur le généreux soutien de nos bénévoles, donateurs et partenaires dans notre mission commune d’améliorer la vie des Ontariens atteints d’anémie falciforme et, ultimement, de trouver un remède universel à cette maladie dévastatrice.
