Our Vision
Optimize the lives of individuals and families living with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). This is part of a broader vision for every Ontarian with SCD to have equal and equitable access to comprehensive, standard care regardless of place of residence in the province.
Our Mission
1. To educate the general public about sickle cell disease (SCD) and sickle cell trait (SCT).
Activity to Accomplish Mission
By providing public seminars, forums, in- school lectures, religious places presentations, law-enforcement education, etc.
2. To provide support for patients and families with SCD

By organizing support groups, clubs, etc.
3. To alleviate poverty for patients and families with SCD
Activity to Accomplish Mission
By providing and administering emergency grants, scholarships, and other financial aids.
4. To provide a better understanding/knowledge of the disease to individuals with sickle cell disease and their families

By providing Learning for Life TM (LFL) educational sessions to improve management of the disease.
5. To contribute to the educational advancement of students with SCD

By providing scholarships and grants.
6. To improve care and treatment received by individuals with SCD

A. By advocating on behalf of patients, for life-saving drugs and treatments,
B. By providing education to the medical and allied health professionals on the subject of SCD,
C. By supporting sickle cell research,
D. By organizing Lunch and Learns (L&L) in the local hospitals.
